Are you happy? Have you ever wondered how happy you are? Life is too short to be unhappy. If any aspect of your life is making you unhappy, it may be time to figure it out and fix that problem. Happiness is much more than having a smile on your face or being surrounded with friends. It is about being satisfied and content with what you have. It depends on how stressed you are and how you handle it, how loved you are and how successful you are at what you do. It’s about being able to reach your goals. It’s about every little thing in your life that brings you happiness.
Let’s figure out how happy you are!
How Happy Are You In Your Relationship?
Your happiness doesn’t only depend on you. It depends on the person you share your life with. Our relationship with our partners plays a very important role on how we feel. A fight in the morning can ruin the whole day. A simple hug can make life seem so much better.
Your happiness depends upon how emotionally close you are to your partner, how much you think he/ she cares? Figure out how confident you are about your relationship when dealing with some problems or conflicts. Do you consider yourself to be in a happy relationship? These are important questions that only you can answer. Feeling happy is about feeling loved and respected. It’s about never even thinking about breaking this commitment. It’s about respecting the person in your life and admiring him/ her.
Ask yourself if you find your better half or your better half to-be interesting and physically attractive? Are you willing to spend the rest of your life with this person? Is this person in your life dependable? Is there anything you would like to change about this person?
Are you willing to try hard to meet your partner’s needs and is he or she willing to do the same in this relationship? Are you guys in love the way you used to be? Are you guys best friends? Because for happiness, that perfect relationship is very important.
How Happy Are You At Work?
The 9 to 5 life can be hard on you if you hate your job. It’s not only about what you do but where you do it and with whom. Being frustrated at work can affect your life at home and your attitude with your family. I would suggest that you quit but we all understand that the job market is really tight and that happiness won’t pay bills. But if you have a stressful job, figure out why it’s so and find a solution to your problem. Ask yourself if you like what you do? If that is difficult to answer or figure out, just ask yourself what is the best part about your job – is it the pay check, the appreciation, or just the feeling you get from completing a project? Do you think your salary is in line with your education and experience? Are you happy with your boss and your co-workers? Does your company offer a good benefit package? If the answer to all or most of these questions is no, you need to find a new job! If it’s mostly “yes”, then congratulations! You are a part of 45% of the population that are happy with their work.
A trait of happy people is that they only make enough money for their needs. It is important to take out time for your family and yourself. What is the point of making a lot of money but not having the time to spend it with the people you love? What is the point of having a lot of money and not being happy?
Happiness And Family Life
Happy families don’t only eat together, they have good communication amongst them. They stand up for one another and they support each other and they help each other. You cannot change your family. That’s the charm of having a family. It teaches you to fix things and resolve problems instead of just quitting. You can turn your family into a happy family by using some simple tactics. Make sure they know you love them. Random acts like hugging and kidding around with family members can make the environment in your house very jolly. If you don’t live together, get together often and make sure all of you are there on holidays. Try to celebrate Christmas and Thanksgiving together every year. Get your family small gifts for no reason at all. Remember birthdays and always try to be the first one to wish them.
If you have kids, teach and spend time with them everyday. Teach them something new. Tell them about your family history. Also, your home should be well organized, cozy and welcoming. If you want to figure out how happy you are, try answering these questions very honestly. Does everyone in your family feel loved? Is the environment at home welcoming to all the members of the family? Is being at home stressful or soothing?
Are You Happy With Yourself
Think health and happiness. To measure how happy you are, ask yourself the following questions: Do you think life is getting better every day? Is your life on the right track? Are you comfortable with your financial situation? Do you feel loved?
Happiness is a state of mind. One can have everything in this world and still be unhappy or have nothing at all and still be the happiest person in the world. You have to find happiness within yourself. You have to allow yourself to be happy. You have to learn to find reasons to smile and to laugh. If you have any regrets, learn from your mistakes, forgive yourself and move on. Try to compare yourself with those who are less fortunate than you. Look at those who are better than and learn from them. If for some reason you have a guilty conscience, figure out a way to compensate for what you did wrong.
